Timm’s Hill, Wisconsin

I don’t know who Timm was, but he was enough of a person to have more than the usual allotment of consonants, and they named a hill after him. Not just any hill either. This small hill in Wisconsin is the highest natural point in the state at 1,952 ft. Located a little over 3 hours drive north of the state capital of Madison, Timm’s Hill is not quite a topographical wonder, but is pleasant enough for what it is.
Situated in Timm’s Hill County Park, the high point is accessible by foot, a short walk from a parking lot with a playground. The actual hill has an observation tower that you can climb, offering a decent, if not life changing view of the surrounding forest. To be honest, no one will be surprised to learn that the highest natural point in Wisconsin is not all that high, the view isn’t all that good, and unless you are close already or are coming here for a compelling reason, it’s not that impressive in any way. But we did it!
The most arduous part of this adventure was the drive. You do not need special equipment, or equipment of any kind, you do not need a guide, you don’t really need anything. Most people could do this naked and alone. So good luck!
